New River white water rafting means no waiting for dam releases. That's why we raft the Lower New every day during the West Virginia rafting season. On this trip, you'll get:

• 20 big-water rapids and calm pools in between for lounging and swimming
• Eye-popping scenery

• Great surfing levels mid and late summer
• Grilled lunch at the riverside (All day trips only)

*For your safety, ACE reserves the right to change age requirement, river section or river if unusual water levels occur. Minimum age is 11 for normal summer flows mid-June through October. Minimum height is 56” tall. During spring-like water levels higher than 5’ (10,000 cfs), minimum age may be raised at our discretion.

• Two runs through the heart of the New River Gorge

• Difficulty: Exciting (Class III-IV+)

From 11-year-olds to folks in their 80s, we've seen them all go down the Gorge. New River rafting is one of the best outdoor activities in the eastern U.S. Come for the fun, come to connect in the wilderness, or come to learn a little West Virginia history. It's wild and wonderful.

For your West Virginia rafting adventure, we provide the life jacket, helmet, paddle and such. Clothing recommendations apply roughly May to August. In other months, or in times of rough weather, we recommend a wetsuit rental or other insulating gear. Rafting trips go rain or shine.
