I'm Lenore Lund, and I have been involved in the whitewater industry for 30 years.
I started my career on the Nolichucky River near Erwin, Tennessee, in 1979. That's when Jerry Cook, now ACE's president, took me down the river for my first time and got me hooked.
Over the past three decades I've worn many hats-shuttle driver, raft guide, lunch-packer, store manager, reservations manager, proofreader, travel show representative, wetsuit manager and, for the past 10 years, I've watched the money flow in (and out of) accounting.
The industry has certainly changed over the years, and my goal is to relate some of what I think are interesting aspects of the whitewater industry. I hope you'll find them interesting, too.
Anyone else out there get hooked on rafting thanks to Jerry and the Nolichucky?
