Support The Fight Against Breast Cancer

Meet Shelby Dietz.
Here at ACE Adventure Resort, we host many groups. Boy Scouts, church groups, bachelor parties. Shelby Dietz recently arranged a mini-reunion of her college friends and simultaneously raised money for a charity close to her heart.
Shelby is like many of us who have unfortunately been touched by cancer. Her mother, Nina, had been battling the disease for 12 years. She finally succumbed to the disease on March 6, 2010. Shelby decided to turn this sad experience into something more positive, to be proactive and be part of the solution.

She and her husband, Evan, participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on May 1-2. This two-day event takes place all over the world. Participants walk 39 miles to show support for cancer patients and to raise money.
Shelby selected this event specifically because 78 cents of every dollar goes directly toward research into possible causes, prevention, treatment and a cure for breast cancer; clinical care for patients; support services for patients and their families; education seminars; and early detection programs.
Shelby said this was originally meant to be something she could share with her mother. Even though her mother is gone, she feels like this walk helps continue her mother’s fight.
ACE donated Zip Line Canopy Tours to the cause. Their friends also made donations to the fundraising efforts to participate in the trip. Together, they have raised more than $5,000. I hope they have inspired you to get involved. You can find more information on Shelby's group or get your own group together or donate money to them directly.
