Lost Paddle Logo Contest Winner

I'm pleased to announce we have selected a logo for the Lost Paddle Bar and Grill. It was one of the earlier submissions, but it just kept rising to the top of the pile when reviewing prospects.

If you didn't hear about it, we held a crowd-sourcing logo design contest to come up with a new look for the Lost Paddle Bar and Grill. We used a website called CrowdSpring. There were 39 total logo submissions 16 different artists and designers.

The winning entry was designed by caspratt (the link goes to the artist's profile on CrowdSpring — see my previous blog post explaining the logo design contest).

There's A Party At The Lost Paddle

Oh, and did I mention the wide selection of beer and spirits?

Find Your Way To The Lost Paddle For A Meal

I am a huge fan of the Dining Lodge – as my previous blogs can attest.  

Luckily, here at ACE we have another dining option, The Lost Paddle Bar and Grill.

Outside you will regularly see raft guides and guests hanging out and playing cornhole.

(Cornhole is like a more redneck version of horseshoes.  As a redneck, I can use the word so no one gets offended or writes back with a nasty comment.)

TSIF — Thank Seafood It's Friday

Hear ye!  Hear ye!  Visualize me ringing a bell dressed like Paul Revere holding a lantern.  I am the ACE Town Crier to let all of you know something very important.

Wait for it.

Friday at the ACE Lakeside Dining Lodge is Seafood Night and it does not disappoint.  This is not for guests only.  I encourage locals living in the area to come down and check it out as well.

Val, Randy, Theresa, their staff pull out all of the stops for a great dinner.   What was most notable to me was the number of employees in dining.  That is the only testimonial I needed that the food will be great.  Internal customers for me are always a sign of quality.

A Little Love For The Ladies Of Lunch

Have you ever stopped to think about who prepares and packs the wonderful lunches we have on the river?

Our lunch crew has been with us for years, and deserves kudos for the number of meals they have prepared over the years. They order, prepare, package, place in coolers and consistently make sure you have a great riverside lunch or overnight meal.

How do you figure out how many loaves of bread to order, potato salad to make, and even how much peanut butter and jelly to pack for those who prefer a simpler lunch?

No One Gets Out Hungry At ACE

I am not ashamed to admit my love of everything epicurean.   Any food.  Any genre.  Any nationality.  With one exception: okra.  I don’t enjoy the slimy texture.

Last night, Ma Perdue and I ate in the ACE Dining Lodge for the first time for my birthday and it was a great experience.  I was a bit concerned that there would not be items that would play into my new health-kick, but I was pleasantly surprised.
