Before interviewing Jeff, everyone at ACE told me, "You've got to meet this guy!" Funny, energetic, the best bike mechanic and mountain bike guide. Everyone likes Jeff, and yes, Jeff is not only funny like the Family Guy, he also lives a very exciting life exploring the world.
Jeff grew up in Kistler, WV, joined the army, and participated in Desert Storm. He came back to live in New York City and work for Amtrak as an electrical traction engineer. Jeff has always loved outdoor adventure and enjoys exploring nature. City life and lots of money doesn't excite him. He moved out west to enjoy snowboarding and mountain biking. He also started college majoring in environmental science and biology.
Seven years ago, a visit home brought Jeff back to West Virginia. With the expectation of having a summer job, Jeff started at ACE as a raft guide. Since then, he's never left ACE. One year as a raft guide and six years managing the Bike Department brought many fun and exciting moments to his life. In Jeff's words: "I Love ACE, I Love my job, and I Live my job".
Jeff's favorite mountain biker is "Scuba" Steve (who also works at ACE), and his favorite expression is "smile." His favorite video boater is Tommy Hood. Jeff likes Bluegrass music and plays the Banjo and harmonica. If you ever hear his voice message, you will hear Jeff playing an exotic Australian instrument - Didjeridoo.
Most important, Jeff just bought his first home in Oak Hill, where ACE Adventure Center is located. Yes, he needs furniture!
