Emily grew up in Chattanooga, TN with her parents and younger sister. She became interested in backpacking and paddling through Girl Scouting. Upon graduation from high school she moved to Rome, GA and attended Berry College, where she earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. While at Berry, Emily trained as a challenge course facilitator. She also worked as a challenge course director for a Girl Scout camp in the Rome area. After graduating she continued to work at the camp, and eventually got a "real" job at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in their children's center. Eight months of working inside taught Emily she could not be inside all day! She then found herself in graduate school at Georgia College & State University working toward a Masters of Education in Outdoor Education Administration. She will graduate in May of 2007.
Emily lives in Ansted, WV with her boyfriend and their two formerly homeless and now incredibly spoiled dogs.
We're certainly glad to have someone like Emily managing our ropes course, and feel confident in her ability to challenge guests so they strive for their best! |
