ACE Provides:
- Guide
- Tent
- Transportation to and from river
- All rafting equipment (this doesn't include wet suit and rain gear, however, they can be rented)
- Meals – lunch and dinner on day 1 and breakfast and lunch on day 2. Vegetarian or dietary restrictions requests need to be called in or faxed as soon as overnight reservations are made
- Beverages – sodas, lemonade, water, and limited supply of beer
- One water resistant bag per guest for personal items
You Need To Bring
- Sleeping bag / Sleeping pad / Pillow
- Personal toiletries (biodegradable soap, towel, toothbrush, etc.)
- Change of clothing for camp including dry shoes
- Additional beverages
- Flashlight

What To Wear
On fall Gauley River rafting trips, weather can vary quite a bit. Be prepared to rent a wetsuit or bring your own on most days. Cotton is a poor insulating layer to wear; when cotton gets wet (like it does when you are rafting the Gauley) it actually draws heat from your body, making you colder. There is a sayiing in the white water world that you should dress for the swim. Although no one plans to fall in the water while rafting the Gauley River, it does happen. On chilly days, wearing synthetic pile or fleece over your core along with a windbreaker works with your wetsuit (don't forget, Gauley River water is around 55 degrees) to keep you warm — and comfortable — all day. On particularly cold days, wool socks, gloves and skull caps are a good idea for conserving your body heat.
On the river:
- Shorts and/or bathing suit
- Polypro layers (top and bottom)
- Windbreaker (you can rent one from us)
- Wool or polypro socks
- Wetsuit recommended in cooler temps (we rent those, too)
- Extra layers (be ready for rain)
- Hat
- Sunglasses with strap
- Wetsuit booties, river sandals, old shoes
- Your "chillin'-I'm-on-vacation" face
Don't Bring on the River
- Towels
- Wallets, rings or jewelry

- All ACE riverside camps have primitive rest room facilities; there is NO running water or electricity
- Please lock all valuables in your car, including jewelry, wallet, money or anything you do not want to get lost or wet
- You will need to arrive for check-in 1.5 hours before the trip departure time listed on your confirmation
