Intermediate Kayaking Level III
The Intermediate Kayaking program can easily be broken down into two classes, which allows you the flexibility to progress at your own speed. We will evaluate your abilities, then hone and practice the specific skills that will help you break through to the next level of kayaking.
At ACE Adventure Center, you can add any of our lodging options and meals from the dining hall for an all-inclusive, no driving, package. This is learning to kayak the fun way! See our Rates for details
Simple and Effective Kayaking Techniques
Two or Three Day Course-
"It's all Coming Together"

Prerequisites:
1. Have paddled 5-8 times on
whitewater in the last year
2. Have performed successful and
continuous lake rolls in the last year
3. Have attempted swiftwater rolls
in the last year

At ACE, our progressive building block method allows you to learn it right the first time,
Day One–We will start on perfecting a true river roll and focus on self-rescue, compound braces, and bow draws. Your instructor will encourage you to realize your personal paddling objectives. This beautiful section of the river is versatile. You will be comfortable enough to choose for yourself whether you will roll, paddle, and play your way, or take more difficult lines through the river's class II-III whitewater and exciting play spots.

Day Two–In kayaking, control is the name of the game. You can paddle like a maniac and flounder through a rapid, or you can analyze and dissect the rapid, then run it with assurance, hitting the fun spots and avoiding the hazards. On Day Two, we will work on boat control by paddling a section of river known for its vortexes and deep eddy walls. This is an ideal place to practice crisp eddy turns, peel-outs and to push braces and boat leans to the limit. We will also run Class III+ rapids.
