Day OneWe will start on perfecting a true river roll and focus on self-rescue, compound braces, and bow draws. Your instructor will encourage you to realize your personal paddling objectives. This beautiful section of the river is versatile. You will be comfortable enough to choose for yourself whether you will roll, paddle, and play your way, or take more difficult lines through the river's class II-III whitewater and exciting play spots.
Day TwoIn kayaking, control is the name of the game. You can paddle like a maniac and flounder through a rapid, or you can analyze and dissect the rapid, then run it with assurance, hitting the fun spots and avoiding the hazards. On Day Two, we will work on boat control by paddling a section of river known for its vortexes and deep eddy walls. This is an ideal place to practice crisp eddy turns, peel-outs and to push braces and boat leans to the limit. We will also run Class III+ rapids.
