I just wanted to take the time and say "THANK YOU" to everyone at Ace
Adventure Center but especially to our Guides "Steve Reid & Scott
(Dislocated Knee Scott - Hope he's feeling better, Didn't catch his last
name). Also, I wanted to thank the staff at Ace as well as some of the
other guides on our trips who made a great impression with us, not just on
the river, but off the river at the Ace Adventure Center as well. Some of
the other guides we met and we'd like to thank are Kent, Greg, Tug (TALL
UGLY GUIDE ha,ha,,), T.J., and Erin.

Our 2 guides, Scott & Steve, over a two day period of rafting, made our
time at Ace better than we had ever imagined it could be. Because of
them, our trip exceeded our expectations of Ace and the Gauley River. On
the river they showed their expertise and technical skills making sure
everyone was safe. In the rafts, they were personable and friendly. All
day long they kept us entertained with stories of past trips as well as
informational value of the river and it's surroundings. They answered our
questions without hesitation. I didn't see either one of them without a
smile all day long!! Steve had to contend with our crew for 2 days and
smiled the whole time. Even on our Marathon Monday trip, as it was cloudy
& raining, he made us laugh the whole trip telling us jokes to past the
time. The poor guy had me landing on him in just about every rapid and
I'm no little guy! -- (Steve, How's your leg?)
And lets not forget our Video Boater "JAMES" - who put up with us for 2
days straight as well. "Jimmy, JJ, James" - we called him every name in
the book and he still smiled & waved every time he paddled by us. He
produced 2 days of awesome video footage - Thanks for helping us remember
our great time James & we'll never forget your crib, LOL!!
As a group, "The Lyons Crew" or "The U.S. Rafting crew from Maine", we've
rafted many different rivers and stayed with many different companies
throughout the years, but none compare to the Gauley River or to the
Guides here at Ace.
I'm the owner of a rafting company in Maine, U.S. Rafting, and I know that
anyone, in time, can learn a river and run it successfully but it takes
the technical skills combined with great personalities to make a "GREAT"
guide. These people that we've mentioned above are examples of what
"Great Guides" should be!!! Good Guides come around every now and then,
but "Great Guides" are hard to find. Its' rare to have all of these
guides working under one company. These guides are definitely great
assets for your company and I just wanted you to know what you've got down
there at Ace. Please print this out and make sure all the guides we
mentioned get a copy of this and please forward this to the owner/managers
of your company!!!! They should know who they have working for them and
that these guides went above and beyond in making us feel welcomed; safe;
entertained as well as had us leaving with life lasting memories to share
with everyone up here in the North East.
Being in the business I know that "A Happy Customer is a Return Customer,
and a Return customer is the Best advertising that you could ask for".
Again, I want to say 'Thank You' to Ace as a company for a successful
trip. We drove down 15 hours from Maine thru Massachusetts to pick people
up and then on to West Virginia. After the experience we had on the river
with these guides Steve & Scott and with the other guides we meet at Ace,
mentioned above in this email, we'd turn around tomorrow and make that
drive again. You will definitely see us again next year and I hope to
make it a Bus load of people pulling in to Ace next time. Because of
Steve & Scott, you've taken us from Rivers Resort, where we were
customers, and you'll see us again next year! As the owners & managers of
Ace Adventure Center, you should be proud of these guides who made a
lasting impression on us as they have just secured Ace 'New Customers' for
years to come!

U.S. Rafting
My husband and I went on an Upper New trip, and we had a
fantastic time!
We especially want to thank our trip leader, Andrea. Our group consisted
of duckies and rafts, and the guests ranged from high school students, to
women in their 40s, to a 70-something grandfather. We were very impressed
by how Andrea helped everyone enjoy the trip, despite the difference in
physical abilities and excitement tolerance levels! After Surprise, one
or two of the women seemed a little overwhelmed by their unexpected swim,
but Andrea got them back in their duckies, and laughing at the experience
in no time.
We'll be back again next summer (if not sooner!)

I recently experienced one of the best run trips of my life by going on an ACE Marathon and Upper white water rafting trip! I have traveled all over and done many different things, but this trip with ACE was by far the best! First of all, I would like you to know that the guides, Kurt Tilly and JP were the best and the main reason that this trip was so awesome for all of us! These guides did an outstanding job and made the trip for everyone in our group. They not only were superb guides, but also awesome cooks for the overnight meal. I am planning on going on this trip again and I will request these guides! Please share this with Kurt and JP – they deserve the credit for such a great trip!
Thanks again for such a great time! Next time I will be selecting ACE for the Gauley River rafting trips in the future!

Hello Dear Staff at Ace! Can you please pass these message to all of your staff?
We had yet another OUTSTANDING vacation at Ace and spent there instead of planned three days- 7 nights and 8 days! Unforgettable experience and great vacation- all one can wish for.
As usual we wanted to say big thank you to all of your outstanding, professional guides- each of them unique and giving us different and exciting experience.
We have requested Scott Olive and Johnny Hart as our guides but we got none of them when we arrived and we were VERY upset at the beginning but then we got the guides we got and we do not regret about any of those- your staff are excellent! Special thanks to:
Ken "Bambam' who took us on reverse overnight at Gauley River- he is SO VERY Professional and he taught us how to paddle - took us through very difficult rapids and flipped us over at all right places on easy rapids which gave us thrill and fun and memories we will cherish until next September when we can come back to Ace and Gauley and do it all over again! Ke, is also a GREAT cook!
Jay LLado who si an awesome guide with great sense of humor- also a good cook and who can make a trip at New River a fun experience (after Gauley you need to be quite skilled to make the trip fun :-)) Jay succeeded in that for sure! It was fun to be around him at all trips and we do hope next Gauley trip with be with Jay again!
Leah!!! where to start? Marathon with her is fun and competitive and always exciting- we trust Leah to take us anywhere on that River- we had an awesome trip and an awesome time! (also to metnion Lara and Miranda who rode along- ladies- you are great guides and people- hope to see you soo an Gauley guiding your own rafts).
Johnny Hart- Johnny we will make office to give you to us for one of our Gauley trips - we will request and request until we can do it!

It was evident just watching the other outfitters on the Gauley that ACE is a steps above the rest... looked as if another outfitter was making a stab at second best at Sweet’s Falls but their lunch location looked little and less accessible.

I would like to start out by telling you my whole family really enjoyed our rafting trip. There were seven of us rafting with Tracy ranging in age from 10-40. I cannot say enough nice things about Tracy. We had her as our guide five years ago, and when we decided to bring our kids we were hoping we would have her again. (we couldn't remember her name to request her) She was very helpful and understanding with a nervous teenager and also very knowledgeable and entertaining. All five of our children enjoyed the experience, which is nothing shy of a miracle at the ages of 10,10,12,14 and 16.

I have visited your facility the last four summers. Three times with
the Boy Scouts and once with friends and I am happy to report that it's
a great experience every time. It's obvious that you continue to spend
the capital needed to improve ACE more every year. Paved roads to and
new bathrooms up on Mountain Top are great and the lake has new stuff
every time we visit. It's affordable and fun. Hot meals on the river are a great idea too. Your guides are the best - Tug was our guide this past trip on the water and he was an A+. Serious about safety, but made the trip fun for all.

Hello,
Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic weekend. My husband and I spent Friday through Monday with ACE and thoroughly enjoyed our stay which exceeded our expectations. The cabins were clean and comfortable. The hot tub got plenty of use. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. Your staff was the frosting on the cake and truly “made our trip”– from the river guides (Tug, Rachel, and Karen) to the clothing sales, bar staff, and welcome staff.
We will be back again and I’m already looking forward to the trip.
