To all the ACE Crew,
Hello, everyone. This is Gaylen C. from St. Peters, MO. I'm the guy that ruined Scott Olive's record
of getting every one back alive. I did get back alive; but did suffer a broken leg near the end of the
run. Despite the broken leg, I just wanted you all to know that my son, Joe, and I had a tremendous
time on the river. We really enjoy the video you sent us. Everyone who sees it is just amazed. It is
so professionally done. We especially like the part when our litttle 12 footer hit Surprise and
capsized. The change in music is absolutely perfect and to see the expression on my wife's face
(no wonder she and my daughter opted to leave at lunch time) was priceless (we should get Master
Card to make a commercial).
Just to let you know, we opted to drive home to MO to have my leg set which was done on July 15.
I'm now the proud owner of a bionic right leg with a titanium steel rod screwed to my tibia in three
places. It is healing nicely; the cast is off; I'm starting to walk (gingerly at this point); but must be
careful not to over do it.
I want to thank all of you for the tremendous experience we had with ACE. Yes, there was a
freakish accident; but life happens. I've already recommended you to several of my friends and
would like to to do it all over again in the next year or two--we already have several major events
happening in our family in the next year or so, so will have to think about 2007. I'm most especially
gratefull for the professional manner my accident was handled. Scott was magnificent, the EMTs in
the group were a God-send, Marilyn was an angel and Tom (I hope I remember his name), ACE's
Manager, who spent the afternoon at the ER with me was simply great.
So, as they say, keep your boats pointed down stream, your heads above water and continue to
provide a great time for all us amatures,
Gaylen K. C.
