Description

The Canopy Tour takes place out near our climbing site on River Rd and consists of 6 zip lines covering around 2000 feet! The lines launch from both cliff tops and platforms in trees and end the same kind of way, only someone is there to hook you to the tree/cliff before we unhook you from the zipline. There is some walking, about 100 feet, from one zip line to the next so that everyone can have the best ride possible. Everyone will be outfitted in a padded, full body harness for extra comfort. The last zip line will end at our climbing site where we will end the trip with a rappel from a tree to the ground where they will be picked up and brought back to the Big Top, where they checked in. Heights of zip lines go up to approximately 50-60 feet!

What to Wear

Wear free moving clothes as you would with climbing, hiking boots, no short shorts (think about the harness with short shorts…ouch). In the spring and fall, you want to make sure they wear layers, like you would with climbing. You might suggest a ball hat to wear under your helmet, to block the sun, since you are in the tops of the trees. If they wear sunglasses, recommend straps, as they will lose them.

Special Notes

The zip lines are set up with slight inclines, not straight down the mountain. Of course, this keeps them from running into trees, etc. On occasion depending on weight, etc you will have to pull yourself the last little bit of the way to the end. You don't need speed for adventure when you are this high up looking at these views!
