« Back to Mud Obstacle Race

Description

The Mud Obstacle was designed as a teambuilding activity where teams of at least 5 each can compete against each other in mud, mud and more mud. The course is set up in two lanes so that teams of 2 can compete head to head. The course usually begins with a game of tug of war, and the winning team gets the head start on the next element which is the "All Aboard". This obstacle is set up to where each team tries to balance on a small platform and accomplish a task (sing a song, or similar). Once they have accomplished the task, it is time to run the the rest of the course. Basically, this gives one group a head start and adds a mental element after the totally physical Tug of War. The rest of the course is nothing but mud….and a little water for cleaning off. The Commando Crawl challenges groups to crawl in the mud, on their stomachs, under horizontally crossed ropes like you would see in a Military Style Boot Camp! Next is the Slicky Slide, where you have to crawl up one muddy side and slide down the other into another pit of mud. You have the Tarzan Swing, where you swing across the pit and climb the rope up the slope on the other side. These are some of the obstacles that lead you up to the lake where we begin our "Clean Off" Elements. Entire teams trying to cross a small lake on a telephone pole, surely means someone is going to fall off, or everyone for that matter! And the Lily Pad jump always finishes up what the telephone pole doesn't. The Lily Pads narrow to one lane, heating up the competition toward the finale, the raft race! Be the first team to board your raft and paddle across the lake to the finish line…but beware of obstacles along the way! These are just some of the obstacles involved, there are too many to list!

What to Wear/Bring

Wear old clothes that you do not mind ruining with mud. We can also provide old, cut off wetsuits for the guest. We can supply booties but definitely recommend secure shoes, as you will lose shoes in the mud! If doing another 1/2 day activity the same day, be prepared to change clothes before or after, depending on which you do first.

Special Notes

This course is mainly used for teambuilding, so you can not double book groups. You can however, waitlist smaller groups and we can combine them if others want to go too. If someone in the group doesn't want to participate, they can go along and watch, but is still required to sign a waiver form.
