New River Festival
June 7 - 9, 2012
Join us for the New River Clean Water Alliance's New River Festival featuring a Friday night Wild & Scenic film festival, Saturday live music, River Kids educational activities, puppet parade, liars contest, exhibitors, art & food vendors, Saturday morning field trips, and on Sunday you can choose to go down the New River in a rafting trip that also benefits the Clean Water Alliance.
All proceeds from the festival benefit the nonprofit members of the New River Clean Water Alliance working to protect and enhance the New River and her tributaries.
Admission: $10 individual and $15 family. Or you can become a Friend of Clean Water for $20 that includes festival registration and receive updates and information regarding progress of the New River Clean Water Alliance.

4th Annual Big Air Blob Competition
July 4, 2013 (Thursday) - Event on Saturday, July 6th
Gather at the ACE Adventure Play Park on Saturday, July 6th, 2013 for the 4th Annual Big Air Blob Competition. Fireworks won't be the only thing rocketing skyward on Independence Day. Teams of two will compete for the most outrageous blob of the day. Judges will score up to 10 points per blob based on form, height or just sheer craziness. Prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!Rules
- 2-person teams – launcher and launchee
- Minimum age: 8
- Kids age 8 to 11 must weigh at least 50 lbs
- No more than a 150 lb. weight difference between launcher and launchee
- Must have already completed lake waiver and have lake wristband
- 1st round – all teams blob
- 2nd round – top 10 teams blob a second time
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners awarded
Where & When
- Registration and competition starts at 5 PM on Saturday, July 6th
- Come to the event tent located near the lake dock

West Virginia’s smallest incorporated town, Thurmond, is making it possible for your family to experience what it is like to do a triathlon. This beginner friendly triathlon consists of an easy 2 mile bike ride from the Historic Thurmond Train Depot, a 1.5 mile paddle on the gentle section of the Upper New River and a 2 mile run around the town. With pre-registration ACE Adventure Resort will even provide a ducky for the paddle section. Get your family hooked on the outdoors and make memories they will have for a lifetime!

12th Annual ACE New River Gorge-ous Trail Run & Walk

Join ACE Adventure Resort for the 12th Annual New River Gorge-ous Trail Run. There are three race options, a 13.2 or 7.5 mile run, or a 4.5 mile walk. All of the course wander through deep hardwood forests and offer spectacular views of the New River and the historic town of Thurmond. And yes, prizes are awarded.
