Just wanted to take a moment to point out some things we really noticed on our trip from 7/9/06 - 7/15/06.
The guides in your employment are extremely professional and accommodating. On day one, we did the upper new trip with Devin. Only 2 or 3 of us had any rafting experience. Devin encouraged us to use the duckies and we need to thank him for that. Out of a group of 20, only 2 used a raft. All of us had a great time. He was a pleasure to listen to, and took time to explain each rapid to us and explain what we should do. He is a great story teller and kept everyone's attention. Charlie the video guy has a great future ahead of him if he keeps doing this kind of stuff.
We went rappelling with Dave, Laura, and Rebecca the 2nd day - and had a blast. They are all very outgoing and good at explaining what you should be doing to make the experience that much better. Laura even took some time to play some quick games with the Scouts while we were waiting to return. They all had fun.
We rented the mountain bikes the next day. Jeff was great at sizing everyone up and explaining all the different trails. He helped us decide what was best for each of us.
On Thursday, we rafted the Lower New with Pinky, Scott and Katie. Katie was on my raft and was very informative and reassuring to my wife. We all came out of the raft on Surprise. However, it was no big deal. Again, Katie was the assurance that some needed. She was very quick in her reactions.
Friday we went caving with Leah and Nick. There were two other guides as well, but, I cannot recall their names. Again, very knowledgeable and reassuring to those that needed it.
All of the guides were constantly busy, even when we offered to help set up lunch, they reminded us that we were on vacation. It was good to see that your facility always provides refreshments on trips. Being a Scoutmaster and veteran, I understand the need for staying hydrated. If only every organization was that concerned.
I did not get the name of the gentleman (wore glasses if that helps) who set up our lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday, however, he too was extremely helpful.
I did bring home several brochures and catalogs and will be sure to pass them around. This trip was well worth a round trip of 945 miles.
Thank you
Dan W.
