ACE’s 16-foot rafts are roomy and stable…perfect for the mild rapids of the Upper New.  Your professional Guide uses long oars to drive the raft so you don’t even have to paddle (unless you want to).  Easy rapids, separated by flat pools of warm Summertime water, are perfect for splashing, swimming, playing games or just sitting back and enjoying the scenery.  A delicious riverside lunch makes the day complete.

To add a little more action to the beginner-friendly Upper New, just add a Ducky.  These are light, agile 1 or 2-person inflatable kayaks.  Your Guides show you how easy it is to paddle your Ducky and then join you as you run the rapids, driving your own boat.  The New’s easy Class II and III rapids become much more exciting when you’re in a Duck.

Bring the whole family for two great days of fun on the river.  Each day features a 5 to 6 hour raft trip.  You’ll spend the night under the stars at ACE’s private riverside camping spot.  Your Guides will cook a delicious dinner and breakfast at the campsite and lunch is provided on the river each day.  Once set up at the campsite, there’s lots of time for swimming plus your Guides can lead you on short hikes to beautiful and interesting places…including the old ghost town of Thurmond, WV.  Family fun in the great outdoors!
