ACE Concho Classic 2002 12-Hour Mountain Bike Race

Oak Hill, WV. It may be the end of summer – but August 31, 2002 marks the start of the Concho Classic Mountain Bike Race at ACE Adventure Center. The ACE Concho Classic is a twelve-hour relay, cross-country mountain bike race for individual bikers or teams of 2 or 3. The race is sanctioned by WVMBA. Registration cost is $75.00 for Solo Riders, 2-Person Teams, $100.00, and 3-Person Teams $140.00.
ACE Adventure Center – offers multi-sport activities that challenge the body as well as the mind. Situated on 1,400 acres and offering a wide variety of multi -sport programs including whitewater rafting & kayaking on the New & Gauley Rivers, mountain biking, rock climbing and horseback riding, the Concho Classic fits right in with the ACE philosophy of taking life to the extremes and challenging yourself along the way!

Arrive on Friday, August 30, for registration & check-in. The race course will be open all day for riding. Maps are available at check-in. Relax with family and friends before the race or take part in the many other activities that ACE Adventure Center offers. Accommodations range from primitive camping, RV sites with hook ups to deluxe two-room chalets with Jacuzzis. Breakfast lunch and dinner are available at the Lakeside Dining Lodge. In the evening you will enjoy live music in the Lost Paddler Lounge from 8 – 11:00 PM.
Saturday morning late registration check-in is from 5 – 6 AM. A pre-race meeting will be held at 6:00 AM and at 6:30 AM Racers will log in at the Race Start.
And The Race Begins!
7:00 AM sharp Saturday morning. With a Lemans style start, the bikers are off on the ACE Concho Classic 12-hour Mountain Bike Cross-Country Relay Race. Lunch for the racers will be available from 11:00 AM – 6PM at the Mountain Top Grill.
Racers and their family and friends will gather in the Lakeside Dining Lodge beginning at 7:00 PM for a FREE Pasta dinner for all racers; with only a $6.95 per person charge for everyone else.
An Awards Ceremony will be held immediately following the conclusion of the race in the Lakeside Dining Lodge. Then kick back and relax for the rest of the evening with live music in the Lost Paddler Lounge.

Register by mail, phone or fax. Phone - (888) 223-7238 or fax (304) 469-3053 the form (if paying by credit card). If paying by check, mail the form to: ACE Adventure Center PO Box 1168 Oak Hill, WV 25901.
On-site registration will also be available (with late fee) Friday, Aug. 30 from 12 to 10 pm, and Saturday from 5 to 6 am. Advance reservations for meals are required. Helmets required for all riders. Minors must have release signatures.
