The "Crown Jewel" of spring/summer whitewater, it just doesn't get any better than the Upper Gauley River. You'll run the very same rapids that make the Fall Gauley Dam Release so special...Sweets Falls, Lost Paddle, Pillow Rock and all the rest are even steeper and rockier at lower summertime flows. Summer water flows determine our boats...60% of the time, we're in high-performance rafts, 40% of the time we're in our quick, inflatable kayaks. Class III-V rapids. This trip is awesome!

While not as demanding as the Upper, the Summer Lower Gauley River is a highly technical run with plenty of excitement and some world-class wilderness scenery. At most summer time levels, we use inflatable kayaks. Your guides begin the day with a thorough orientation, and then lead the way through the rapids. Class III-V rapids.
