Rock Climbing Clinics in the New River Gorge:

Rock Climbing Clinics in the New River Gorge

West Virginia lives up to its “Almost Heaven” reputation by boasting world class rock climbing which makes it a great destination for climbing clinics as well as Whitewater Rafting. Besides its breathtaking views, the New River Gorge also boasts some of the hardest, driest sandstone cliffs in all of North America; with over 1600 recorded climbing routes, it’s perfect for novice and experienced rock climbers alike. You can’t beat the experience of getting yourself way off the ground, then having a look around. This is the kind of vacation activity you will never forget.

ACE offers tons of flexible options with our climbing trips, including trip length, difficulty level, and location. We divide our climbing trips into two categories: the Upper New River Gorge and the Lower New River Gorge.

The Upper New River Gorge climbing sites are predominantly located within ACE’s 1400 acre Adventure Resort. These trips feature private climbing up to 80 feet, with routes ranging from 5.5 to 5.10. The Lower New River Gorge has miles of canyon rim rock and is located within the National Park Service land. Cliffs range from 50-150 feet, with routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.12. In the Lower New River Gorge, Park Service guidelines limit group size to 12 people per location, with a 4:1 climber/instructor ratio.
