Rappelling in West Virginia's New River Gorge
The Evening Rappel is a great way to get out and see the New River Gorge it does not include climbing up routes, it is just a downward rappel. Many of our guests book this 2 hour trip with other adventure packages, or whitewater rafting trips, so they get a full New River Gorge experience. Although it is physically less strenuous than conventional rock climbing, rappelling is no less spectacular. Your guides will take you to some of the most spectacular spots in the Gorge – these views will take your breath away. Once you get trained on how it all works, you’re over the edge, suspended in mid air!
Rappelling is an exhilarating experience you won’t soon forget. The views are truly unbelievable; you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world. Since rappelling is technically easier than rock climbing, our minimum age for the Evening Rappel is 8 years old! That means more of your family can enjoy the experience.
