TRIP OVERVIEW

Overnight Whitewater Rafting Trips In The New River Gorge

The New River Gorge is often called "The Grand Canyon of the East." An overnight rafting trip through here is spectacular. The Lower New River rafting is packed with action from class III and IV rapids — class V+ at high water. But the first day of this overnight trek, we'll give you a chance to paddle your own inflatable kayak. Check it out:
  • Duckies (inflatable kayaks) or Rafts on Day 1 Upper New River
  • Rafts on Day 2 Lower New River
  • 15 miles of pure fun
  • Tons of great food, prepared by your guides
  • Camping at ACE's private site (we provide your tents) - check the More Info tab for, well, more information on what to pack
  • Access to hiking and history at ACE's private campsite, just ask!
We're on the river between 5 and 6 hours each day. And the New River Gorge at night? It's off the hook. Sit back around the campfire and take in the stars, listen to the river, and chill. And please, leave your alarm clock at home.

SLIDESHOW

New River Gorge Overnight River Rafting Trips

MORE INFO

The New River is filled with history from the coal mining and logging eras in West Virginia. Nearly every pool the trip passes through is marked by a ghost town on the side of the river. ACE's private campsite is located at the mouth of Mann's Creek near the old coal town of Sewell. At our private campsite, you'll rough it easy. We've got spacious tents set up on wood platforms. The overnight spot has a permanent camp kitchen and picnic tables, so there's no eating out in the rain. We've even got some, ahem, facilities for the ladies when nature calls ;)
