A Gauley Season Quatrain

Editor’s Note: This is the first Great Gauley Blog-Off contest submission by John McCabe. John wrote a poem — he called it a limerick, but it’s actually a quatrain. Terms and rules are listed at the end of this post and your essay and poem submissions are being accepted through Sept. 7, 2010.

There once was a man from Maryland
Who enjoyed the Gauley spray
And though his guides lent a careful hand
The bus ride crushed his vertebrae

We hope that’s not true, John!
