Everyone at ACE Adventure Resort works pretty hard to show people the time of their lives. So, once in a while, it feels really nice to get some feedback like this:
“I wanted to take this opportunity to contact you personally about our recent experience at your resort. I want to make sure that the outstanding staff you have there are properly recognized.”
“In the late evening of June 11, 2009 we traveled to your resort for a two-night stay and a day of rafting. Because of heavy rains our vehicle became disabled in Minden. A young guide, known only to us as ‘Frenchie,’ was also disabled at the same spot. Despite his own difficulties he contacted someone on your staff at the resort who arranged for a young security officer named ‘Robbie’ to come to where we were.
“Robbie picked up my wife and the two young women who were with us and took them to the resort so they would be safe and could check in. Robbie then traveled to Oak Hill to pick me up as I had accompanied the tow truck there with our vehicle. He also saw to it that I got safely re-joined with my family at our cabin. He was fantastic and went way beyond the call of duty.
“Your staff re-arranged our rafting schedule for the next day so we would have time to take care of getting our vehicle looked at and still raft in the afternoon. Throughout the day other staff went out of their way to accommodate our situation.
“The raft trip itself was great. Kent was a fantastic guide. He made the trip quite enjoyable for all and was very supportive and compassionate about our situation.
“All things considered we had a great trip. Our vehicle had considerable water damage and the inconvenience and expense has been substantial.
“However, because of your great staff we can truly say that despite our bad luck we still had a great weekend of fun at ACE.
“We will definitely return for future trips and will recommend your resort to others.”
— Keith H., Louisville, KY
Many years ago I was traveling on business and experienced something very similar to what Keith’s experienced. My vehicle broke down on the highway between Nashville and Knoxville, and the people I encountered made sure I was safe, my car was fixed and I had a place to stay for the night.
I will never forget their generosity.
It’s nice to know there are still plenty of people out there who are willing go above and beyond.
As we all know, life is not always be perfect, but if you have a helping hand to guide the way, it can make all the difference.
