Editor’s Note: This is a Great Gauley Blog-Off contest submission by Nathan Tennison (who must be related to Lord Alfred?). Terms and rules are listed at the end of this post and your essay and poem submissions are being accepted through Sept. 7, 2010.
Once upon a time
Near a river so sweet
An old man had two cats
On a farm used for meat
And year after year
The cats did their deed
Untill the whole wide farm
Was filled with their seed
“I can’t take it anymore”
The old farmer yelled back
“In the river they will perish
In an old burlap sack”
And now when the rafts
From ACE position just right
They meet up with the souls
Of the kitties from that night
Now do not worry
Do not haste
If you love kitty cats
Then you will be safe
But if in your heart
Feline hate brews
into the Fluffy Box of Kittens
You will be too
Awesome rhymes, Nathan! Who else has a flare for words? Who else is inspired by the Gauley River? Just 3 more weeks to let us know!
