Hi there. Feeling SAD? Well, Chin up, lil’ buckaroo.
This blog is a helping hand. A shoulder to cry on. Let’s support each other.
I was listening to the John Tesh morning show yesterday and he was talking about Seasonal Affective Disorder. Here are a list of symptoms:
- A change in appetite, craving sweets and starches
- Weight gain
- Tendency to oversleep
- Difficulty Concentrating
- Increased sensitivity to social rejection
- Avoidance of social situations
If you have three or more of these symptoms, welcome to my world. I am the self-appointed poster child and am planning some PSAs and a telethon.
Instead of money, I am asking for Blow Pop and Little Debbie donations. I have to support my habit somehow.
That same report said that the best treatment is exposure to sunlight for at least 15-45 minutes a day. How hard can that be (unless you’re one of those “Twilight” freaks?) My personal suggestion is a visit to ACE … strictly for medicinal purposes.
Nothing can curb those seasonal blah’s like a retreat to the mountains with an outdoor hot tub. Pencil in your sunlight time to coincide with hot tub time. Perfect.
An even more aggressive treatment plan would be to experience our Zip Line Canopy Tour. Imagine what three hours of sunlight could do for your constitution! Another suggestion would be an ATV tour. I did one last winter as part of my protocol, and it worked wonders.
I implore you. Instead of self-medicating with a Snickers and a large order of fries, be proactive. Call the professionals at ACE and make your plans.
Anyway, that’s what I’d do. What about you? Got any SAD quick-fixes? Put ‘em in the comments.
