ACE Adventure Resort will host the 4th annual Reel Paddling Film Festival this Saturday.
The Reel Paddling Film Festival World Tour is traveling all over the world, showing awesome whitewater, sea kayaking and canoeing films.Saturday, June 20, we’ll be screening the festival’s films at the ACE Adventure Gear Shoppe and Camps at Fayette Station here in Fayetteville.
And that’s not all.
We’ve also organized a fundraiser with the festival. A silent auction will benefit the WV Rivers Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of WV rivers and streams.
There will also be music, food, drinks and games at the event. Admission is free. The festival begins at 7 p.m., with films starting at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.)
There are 29 films listed in the film fest program this year, and here’s some of the highlights: In “Digging Water,” 300 paddlers set out on a 66-day voyage from Rocky Mountain House to Thunder Bay by canoe to commemorate one of the world’s greatest geographers and explorers, David Thompson. “Eastern Horizons” takes viewers sea kayaking in mangrove swamps of the Carolinas to the icebergs of Newfoundland, from the tidal flows around the Bay of Fundy to the urban landscapes of New York City. “Game On” follows renowned big-game kayak angler Jim Sammons around North America on a kayak fishing adventure of a lifetime. “This is the Sea 4” is a gritty edge-of-your-seat portrayal of a couple’s battle against the elements while sea kayaking 2400 kilometers around the South Island of New Zealand. “Pulse” follows world-class whitewater kayaker Tao Berman around Chile, Lake Superior, Mexico and Washington.
