The mountain bikers that live around here in the wintertime usually get to boast that we can ride year round. This year we couldn’t say that. In fact, for about four months I couldn’t definitively tell you if the trails were still there under all that snow. Fortunately, this spring has been a good one and our playground is back.
ACE has devoted a lot of effort to the maintenance of their trail system this season and the trails are looking as good as I have seen them in years. If you saw them this spring, you’ll know this is a major accomplishment for the riders around here.
So heading into this summer, all conditions are primed for some great Thursday Night Group Rides. Every Thursday night, we meet in the main parking lot by the ACE Lake at 6 p.m. and head out for some trail riding fun.
All skill levels are welcome from expert to beginner. It’s a social event and the group leaders will not leave you behind. If enough people show up, we sometimes split into two groups based on the riding pace that folks prefer. So come join us, it’s always a great evening.
