I’m serious. I want to know, what you would like to see ACE build next?
I just spent half a day hiking around Mountain Top Campground trying to layout an 18-hole Frisbee golf course. It’s not an easy task walking, and some times climbing, up and down the mountainous terrain of ACE’s 1,500 acres. When I finally got back to my car, sweaty and dirty, I started writing notes and drawing diagrams on my map. Then I realized: What a great job!
This past winter the owners let me work on the “lake project.” I got to run a bulldozer, drive a dump truck, and they even let me operate the excavator (now that is a BLAST!). We would spend 10 – 12 hours a day moving dirt. We even worked on Christmas Day. It was a huge project. We added two football fields of beach-front to our main lake and it has paid off big-time.
It has changed the entire dynamics of the lake — everyone loves it.
What a lot of people might not realize is that 80% of the work on the lake was done by the owners! Day after day, in the cold, the rain and the snow, these guys were putting me to shame in how hard they worked. The only reason we would stop working is because the sun would set.
Let’s see, this year we expanded the lake, built a beautiful new women’s shower house, built a new equipment room (it’s huge), added 10 new cabins, added 2 new group lodging units, added 20 miles of new ATV trails (a never-ending project), we even have 10 new cabins for our guides … the list goes on and on!
Right now, as I mentioned, I’m laying out 18-holes for Frisbee golf. We will eventually have 36-holes!
We have already done the ground-work to expand the Zip-Line Canopy Tour. It’s going to be awesome! When it is finally done, there will be nothing like it on the East Coast.
We have to expand the ATVs – they are just too popular.
The new *#/@^**(@##><!@?.. OK, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. I was censored by the powers above. They’re right, all I can say is that there are some things coming that you guys are going to love; some of them may take some time and they don’t want to ruin the surprise.
You’ll just have to stay posted.
But the point is, ACE is constantly looking toward the future. We have so many ongoing projects, upcoming projects, and future plans that it’s crazy. ACE really is “A World of Adventure in One Place”! And I get to help build it!
So if anyone has an idea, no matter how crazy it is, we want to hear from you.
What should ACE build next?
