Want to know the secrets of the New River Gorge in West Virginia?
You’re in luck.
Rangers from the National Park Service are coming to ACE Adventure Resort (hey, that’s us!) to give a couple of presentations from a series called “Hidden History.”
The first one, “Tools of the Trade,” is this Friday, August 27 at 7 p.m.
Expect to hear about all those folks that came down here and make the New River their home. Ever see the show Dirty Jobs? These were the dirtiest.
The second one, “Plants and People,” is this Saturday, August 28 at 7 p.m.
Everything growing in the gorge can be used for something. Well, almost everything (leave the poison ivy alone, okay?). Your trusty Ranger is going to show you all kinds of edible and medicinal plants that people in the area have used for generations.
These are going to be pretty cool, everyone. If you’re coming rafting with us, this will be a great way to learn a little about the area before or after your trip.
And if you’re not coming rafting with us, maybe you should change your plans.
