Extreme Whitewater - If you’re up to the challenge, why not see both sections of the Gauley in one incredible day…no less than 23 miles and 100 rapids! ACE can do this trip since our Lower Gauley takeout at Sugar Creek eliminates the 1-1/2 hour (3 1/2 miles) flatwater paddle that all other outfitters have to endure at the end of the day. Many folks feel that, when they’ve done the Upper Gauley, they’ve done it all. Not true! Some of the biggest waves and deepest holes are on the Lower section. If you’re going to do America’s finest river, why not do all of it!

Our highly-skilled Guides proved that it could be done, in part because we brought self-bailing rafts to WV. Team Extreme trips play routes where others have to pass by. Don’t try Team Extreme unless you’re in good physical shape and not intimidated by the prospect of swimming in some very powerful rapids. On Team Extreme, you’ll likely swim, but you will be the heroes of the day!

Fall Lower River Trips

"The Veteran Boaters' Favorite" With its sheer cliffs and rhododendron-lined banks, the Lower Gauley River is the state's most beautiful river...and Class V too! This section's 14 action-packed miles feature towering waves and raft-munching holes...including three Class V rapids. We recommend the Lower Gauley to both first-time rafters and experienced paddlers. It's less intimidating than the Upper Gauley, but every bit as much fun.
