“Safety is our Number 1 Priority!”
Although ACE is justly famous for our High Adventure trips in light, agile 14-foot rafts, we know that some folks would prefer a more conservative ride in a larger, smoother-riding and more stable boat. Most outfitters use 16-foot, 9-person rafts as their standard boats…and charge more for a bigger ride in a smaller boat. At ACE, we do just the opposite. If you don’t think the High Adventure ride in our smaller 14-footers is right for you, we’ll put you in a larger raft with a more conservative ride…and give you a discount too!
When you put an additional 2 or 3 people in each raft, there are some cost savings for the outfitter. That’s why most companies use the larger boats as their standard ride. At ACE, we price our High Adventure Trip competitively and then pass along the savings to you if you choose to be in a larger boat.
On this trip, the emphasis is on safety and fun. Your experienced Guide will take the more conservative runs through the rapids with the goal of keeping everyone in the boat. Whereas unintentional swims are quite common on the High Adventure Trip, they are very, very rare on this trip. That makes the Conservative Trip perfect for groups and families with younger children. Youngsters as young as 11 will find the fun and adventure they’re looking for while their parents will have the security of knowing thatthe kids are running the river safely.
This trip runs the full length of the Lower New, all 24 fabulous rapids. It’s a full-day trip which includes 5-6 hours on the water and a delicious riverside lunch. As with every ACE trip, there’s time for jumping off rocks and swimming and playing in the 70-plus degree water of the Summertime New River.
Although most folks choose this trip for its conservative format and the larger, more stable rafts, the trip is also perfect for those on a tight budget. If you choose this trip to save money, remember that you will be getting a more moderate ride. If the big thrills are what you’re after, stick with the High Adventure Trip. |
