A Coed’s Brain On An Adventure Vacation , Part 1

Ah, To Walk Across The New River Gorge Bridge

Recently, ACE whitewater rafting and adventure vacation scientists decided to experiment on several ordinary American college students, just to see what would happen.

We substituted their normal spring break with a stay in a cabin in the New River Gorge region of West Virginia here at ACE. We provided the adventures, in the form of Bridge Walks, zip line canopy tours, and hiking in the New River Gorge.

And a cabin with a hot tub.

What follows are the results, as described to us by the people in Venture Crew 365* from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. We swear that the statements they gave us are actual written responses from ordinary (though admittedly awesome) young people, who were not under the influence of abnormal amounts of fast food or Axe body spray.

Rebecca, real-life actual college student:

My ACE adventure trip was so much fun!

We have done so many activities that I never would think about myself doing. I am not a big camping person but I have loved everything we have done at ACE so far.

Although, I have to say, the trip here was long. It was horrible. We got lost A LOT, so I would recommend leaving early and arriving in the daylight!

The chalets were AMAZING! I was very happy to be able to go back to our nice cabin and sleep in a comfy bed each night. The hot tubs were also very nice to relax in after a long busy day of outdoor activities.

The first day we went on the Endless Wall hike along the river gorge. The view was snowy and absolutely beautiful!

On the second day we were supposed to go rock climbing and rappelling, but the weather did not allow us to do that. Instead we went on the bridge walk on the New River Gorge Bridge. It was very cool, and also scary.

Overall, it was a lot of fun and I would love to come back and do the many other things ACE has to offer.

And there you have it. Real coeds like ACE so much, they even make it a spring break destination. Cool.

*Venturing is a part of the Boy Scouts of America, but it’s co-ed and the age limit is 21. It is quite possibly the greatest program ever invented for young people to get involved in. Their adventures are pretty much only limited by the imaginations of each Crew. We’re big fans.
